Patient blood management guideline for adults with critical bleeding – Minor update [SEC=OFFICIAL]

Good morning,

The National Blood Authority (NBA) would like to advise you that the Patient blood management guideline for adults with critical bleeding (the guideline) has undergone a minor update.

The update includes a revision to Good Practice Statement (GPS) 5 regarding the standard adult dose of fibrinogen achievable with cryoprecipitate.

The dosage changes have also been updated in the Massive Haemorrhage Protocol (MHP) and the Quick Reference Guide (QRG).

The updated guidance has been published on MAGICapp, a web-based platform for guidelines. The downloadable versions of the guideline, MHP and QRG can also be accessed from the NBA website at www.blood.gov.au/pbm-critical-bleeding. The website also provides a link to access the guideline on MAGICapp.

I would be grateful if you would forward this advice to colleagues who may be interested in the guideline.

Any questions should be directed to guidelines@blood.gov.au.

Kind regards

Guidelines Team
