16/07/2013
1 day

The identification and management of acute or developing mental health issues in the acute health care setting can be challenging due to staff, infrastructure and systems which may not be suitably equipped or designed to respond appropriately.

Geared toward health policymakers, practitioners and researchers, the day will focus on the challenge of effectively managing mental health presentations in the acute setting.

Presentations given by respected experts will explore the policy background to mental health management, the consumer’s perspective of the acute care system, the impact of serious health issues on mental health, suicide prevention and opportunities to improve management of mental health presentations in the acute setting.
