CONSULTATION OPEN | COPD Clinical Care Standard

Have your say on the draft COPD Clinical Care Standard

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a serious chronic respiratory condition that affects 1 in 35 Australians over the age of 35, with significant impact on quality of life.

COPD is associated with significant costs to the healthcare system and is the leading cause of potentially preventable hospitalisations in Australia.

Consultation is now open on the draft COPD Clinical Care Standard, which describes the care that people living with COPD should expect to receive, including for COPD exacerbations.

The draft Standard also highlights the importance of palliative care for supporting patients with managing their symptoms and improving their quality of life.
